In June 2007, HOPE had our work recognised by H.M. The Queen with the award of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This award, which is made annually, is given in recognition of outstanding achievement by voluntary groups in the community and was first announced in 2002 to mark the occasion of The Queens’s Golden Jubilee.

HOPE was delighted to receive from the then Lord-Lieutenant of Angus, Mrs Georgiana Osborne, a certificate signed by the Queen and a commemorative piece of crystal.

Mrs Osborne, congratulating the group on winning such a prestigious award, remarked that ‘the volunteers had worked very hard to build up such a strong voluntary organisation and were highly deserving of the award‘.

She said not only had they made a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities in Angus but, in addition, had provided many people in the area with fresh, organic produce!
